Camp Green Mountain offers curriculum in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). Activities include participating in talent shows and studying astronomy, dance, fossils, music, nature and weather. Our counselors provide hands-on lessons building Legos and towers using resources found in the environment, creating galaxies in a bottle, and engineering using circuit boards. Our Leaders in Training (LIT) program completes a community service project with the support of the campers.

Note - Early and Late Summer Camp Weeks are also available - these are smaller scale camps but still full of activities, movement, and FUN!
Week 1 (June 26 - June 30) | The Great Adventure
Bask in the sun and breathe in the fresh air in a nature-themed week! We will be exploring our downtown with walking field trips to our local parks. Trail walks to the Willow Park, White Rocks, Howard Park, and Arlington Recreational will be highlights!
Week 2 (July 3 - July 7) | Community Hero Week (CLOSED Tuesday for Fourth of July)
Enjoy visits from our local Police Department and other community helpers! Campers will get to see EMS, firetrucks, our K-9 team! Along with educational activities to dig deeper into our hometown heroes!
Week 3 (July 10 - July 14) | Enrichment Week
Spend the week creating and learning about your artistic side! We will spend the week getting ready for the Talent Show, including set design and rehearsals! This will also give kids a range of learning experiences, involving communication, creativity and teamwork skills!
Week 4 (July 17 - July 21) | Sports and Play
If you enjoy gym class, then you will love this week! Try out different sports and games each day! This will include baseball, basketball, dodgeball, kickball, soccer and tennis.
Week 5 (July 24 - 28) | STEAM Week
Along with our typical camp fun, we will have a daily experiment to complete each day! This will include cardboard creations, egg drops, homemade slime, ice cream making and sink or float worksheets.
Week 6 (July 31 - August 4) | Fun and Fitness
Try out different forms of exercise! Zumba, Wall Ball, Obstacle Courses, Four Squares, Capture the Flag and more.
Week 7 (August 7 - August 11) | Hometown History
Learn about all the different historical components of our community with a visit to our local museums (including Bennington Monument and Veterans Home)!
Week 8 (August 14 - August 18) | Color Wars
A field day style week with physical, mental and creative competitions! (Relay races, sports, swimming and more!)

Berkshire Family YMCA’s Camp Green Mountain provides parents with peace of mind knowing that their children are safe, learning new lifelong skills, and having fun. Berkshire Family YMCA (BFYMCA) is committed to recruiting and developing an outstanding group of counselors and directors that are dedicated to providing the best possible camp experience. Many of our staff members are college students who have been Camp participants. The staff participates in extensive training, and our lifeguards are certified. All staff members are certified in First Aid and CPR, as well as CORI checked. Policies and procedures are available in the camp office.

CAMP ACTIVITIES: SWIM, STEAM, & SPORTS!
Camp Green Mountain offers curriculum in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). Activities include studying fossils, nature, weather, astronomy, dance, music and talent shows! YMCA counselors provide hands-on lessons focusing on science experiments creating volcanoes, galaxies in a bottle, exploring engineering using circuit boards, Legos and tower building with environmental resources. Our Leaders in Training (LIT) campers will lead a Community Outreach Project with the support of the younger camp groups.
PARENT PROVIDED DAILY SUPPLIES:
Technology-free zone: Please do not send your child with a cell phone, tablet, laptop, Chromebook or other electronic device.
Lunch is provided by the Abbey Food Group for campers!
Campers are Required To Bring:
- Water bottle required to bring each day - no glass
- Swimsuit and towel
- Sneakers must be worn
- Snack (some weeks need packed lunch also, but food available for anyone in need/want)
- Flip flops are permitted for swim
- Bug spray

OLDER CAMP GROUPS:
Leaders in Training (LIT): Ages 13-15
LIT campers will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with experienced counselors. They enjoy the schedule of the traditional campers with nature, arts and crafts, sports, and more. LIT campers will also lead a Community Outreach Project that connects with the environment. These campers learn how to become a counselor while also developing their leadership and team building skills that they will value throughout their lifetime.

Must apply, interview, and be approved by management staff.
Job training while having a fun and active summer! The last step before being ready to start working themselves! Successful completion of CIT program is a pre-requisite for being hired at age 15 (limited positions).
