IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO GAIN CONFIDENCE IN WATER!
Lots of adults learn to swim or strengthen their swimming abilities at the Y under the patient and skillful direction of Y aquatics professionals. Enjoy learning with others, so you’ll never feel unsafe around water, leading you to a healthier lifestyle including the many physical benefits regular swimming can provide. Through learning how to perform a sequenced set of skills over four lessons of 60 minutes each, learning safety around water reduces the risk of drowning - giving you confidence in and around water. This program is uniquely taught by our own master swim team participants. We have the lessons separated into two groups for those fearful of water and those that are looking to improve on different strokes.
"I have small children and taking lessons has made me more confident to help them and keep them safe." - Ernest A.
A typical session includes:

- Instruction in “Jump, Push, Turn, Grab” and “Swim, Float, Swim,” two skill sets to use if you unexpectedly find yourself in the water
- Specific safety topics, like what to do if you see someone in the water who needs help
- Fun activities that reinforce skills
