FOR ELIGIBLE STUDENTS IN GRADES 2-6
The YMCA’s Bright Futures: Summer Literacy Program’s goal is to develop eligible readers’ literacy knowledge and skills over the 2016 summer by providing a safe, structured environment. The Program focuses on literacy and physical activities such as educational field trips and sports activities. The Program will meet Monday through Friday, 7 hours each day. Certified teachers and teacher aides will lead intense literacy curriculum. This program is designed to support those students who need reading development. Eligibility is determined by their literacy abilities and referral from their school.
40 students entering Grades 2-5 who would benefit from reading development, Mon.-Fri., July 10-Aug. 18, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. $150 for the 6-week program. Parents can drop off as early as 8:30 a.m. (Before-care will be provided from 7:30-9 a.m. for $15/week. After-care will be provided until 5:30 p.m. for an additional $15/week. Both before and after care is $25/week.) The YMCA provides financial scholarships for those who qualify.
